Who AIREI's ads should reach, and how to get good leads

Palm-oil mills in Malaysia and Indonesia, click-to-WhatsApp. Ten buyer situations, what hurts, what AIREI fixes, and what each ad is allowed to show. Part 2, the competitor ads and the skeletons to build from, has started below.

One correction first

The Edge printed Minsawi's OER as 17.85% to 19.02%, not 19.59%

19.59% comes from AIREI's own deck and holds only "from November 2025, after AI grading was introduced". So an ad says either 19.02%, credited to The Edge, or 19.59%, credited to AIREI's mill records, with its period. AIREI's brand file still pairs 19.59% with The Edge; I'll fix that when this research lands. AIREI picks which one (first question below).

Minsawi's oil loss at the press fell from 4.93% to 3.61% on average (wet basis). The night-shift scene itself is shown without a number.

Indonesia's EU deadline is the strongest hook we found. We can't make a claim there until AIREI gives us an Indonesian proof point and its EUDR wording.

Not this. Land legality is outside what AIREI does; traceability only records land once its status is settled.

Don't use this pain as a hook: it would suggest AIREI fixes land legality.

Getting good leads, not junk

  1. Run click-to-WhatsApp as the main ad, set to get leads, not just chats. Meta case studies, via a vendor
    It matches AIREI's goal and its WhatsApp line. Meta case studies collected by a WhatsApp-tools company found 12-79% lower cost per qualified lead when the ad set aims for leads instead of conversations. Meta publishes no benchmark of its own. Spur, click-to-WhatsApp benchmarks
  2. Ask 2-3 questions inside the chat. Common practice
    (1) Your role? (2) Mill capacity (t/hr) and state or province? (3) What's on your mind: OER/yield, a grading or weighbridge dispute, EUDR/traceability, or breakdowns? Each answer points to a buyer row above, so the first reply from AIREI is already on topic.
  3. Reply fast. Meta's own rules
    The free reply window is 24 hours. A slow first reply loses the lead, and a late one can turn into a paid message. Spur, click-to-WhatsApp benchmarks
  4. The audience is tiny, so aim narrow. Common practice
    446 mills in Malaysia, about 1,000 in Indonesia. Target the mill belts (Malaysia: Sabah, Sarawak, Johor, Pahang, Perak. Indonesia: Riau first, which had 285 licensed mills in 2023 (Elaeis, Riau licensed mills (2023)), then North Sumatra, Kalimantan, Jambi, South Sumatra; to confirm). Build lookalikes from AIREI's own contacts and cap how often the same person sees the ad.
  5. Fewer, better leads. From AIREI's own set-up
    AIREI has 4 people in sales and marketing. A flood of chats they can't answer is worse than a few good ones.
  6. Show the video first, then ask. Common practice

  7. AIREI would be close to first on Meta. Our own count
    In our 6 Oct count of Meta's Ad Library, palm-oil tech firms barely advertise there (SawitPRO 2 ads, Koltiva 5, Aonic 8). Koltiva runs EUDR lead ads on LinkedIn instead.

Two figures that float around agency sites, not verified, so we don't lean on them: WhatsApp leads "about 6x cheaper" than landing pages, and a "98% open rate" (Xwork, B2B lead generation Malaysia).

Questions for AIREI

  1. Which OER figure do we use: 19.59% (AIREI's mill records, from November 2025) or 19.02% (as printed in The Edge)?
  2. A second mill we can name. Can PMC be featured, and with which figures?
  3. Any Indonesian customer or project, named or not?
  4. What can AIREI's traceability system claim for EUDR and ISPO: what is it certified for, and what does it only support?
  5. Is any boiler figure allowed (for example trips per month), since breakdown hours are ruled out?
  6. One real night-shift story from Minsawi, in their words.
  7. Minsawi's written OK to be named as a customer in paid ads.

The company list is chosen, and the international ads we already hold have had a first read (text only). The pictures and the local companies' ads need the iMac: Meta's Ad Library only opens in a browser there, and for Malaysia and Indonesia it only shows ads that are running now.

Local means selling to the same buyer as AIREI in Malaysia or Indonesia. Most small local firms' ad counts can only be read on the iMac; some will have few ads, so 16 more are kept as spares.
